The processing of personal data is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP). For visitors from the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies.
When you access our website, our hosting provider automatically collects data transmitted by your browser, including your IP address, the date and time of access, the page accessed, the referrer URL and information about your browser and operating system. This data is used for the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in proper operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting: cyon AG, Basel. A data-processing agreement is in place with the provider.
We use technically necessary storage so the website works – in particular to store your cookie choice (in your browser's local storage under nlx_consent_v1) as well as for language selection and security. This storage is required for operation and does not need consent.
Cookies and comparable technologies for statistics are only set with your explicit consent via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings.
Through the cookie banner we use Google Consent Mode (v2) to control whether tags may collect data. Until you give consent, analytics storage (analytics_storage) as well as advertising storage and personalisation (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) are disabled. They are only activated once you consent to the respective category. If you decline, at most cookieless, non-identifying pings are sent to Google (e.g. that a page was viewed) – without cookies and without being linked to you. Your choice is stored in your browser under nlx_consent_v1 and can be changed or withdrawn at any time via Cookie settings.
6.1 Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Tag Manager does not set cookies itself; it manages the loading of the services described below. These are executed only if you have consented to the respective category (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revFADP).
6.2 Google Analytics 4 (category "Statistics"). With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to analyse how our website is used (e.g. page views, time on site, traffic sources, submission of contact and test-user forms). Cookies or comparable identifiers are set (including _ga, _ga_*, lifetime up to 2 years) and the following data is transmitted to Google: truncated IP address (Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses), device and browser information, approximate location (country/region), pages viewed and events triggered. Data is retained by Google for 14 months and then deleted or aggregated. Google processes the data on our behalf; servers may also be located in the USA (see section 11). 6.3 Google Ads (category "Marketing"). With your consent we use Google Ads to place advertisements in Google Search and the Google advertising network, to measure their effectiveness (conversion tracking) and to show relevant ads to visitors of our website at a later point (remarketing). For this purpose cookies or identifiers are set (including _gcl_au, lifetime 90 days, and Google cookies on google.com/doubleclick.net) and information about your visit and form submissions is transmitted to Google. Conversion events are passed from Google Analytics 4 to Google Ads. We receive only aggregated statistics from Google and no information that would allow us to identify you personally. Without your consent, no personalised ads are shown and no advertising cookies are set. Ad personalisation settings: adssettings.google.com. Further information: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6.4 Withdrawal. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via Cookie settings. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.
For a consistent appearance, this website loads fonts from Google (Google Fonts) via Google servers. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. If you wish to avoid this, the fonts can also be embedded locally (self-hosted).
If you use our contact form or the test-user sign-up form, you transmit the information you enter (e.g. name, email address and message) to us – the transmission goes directly to our web server (neurolexi.ch). We process this data solely to respond to your enquiry or to handle your sign-up as a test user. The legal basis is your consent or the initiation/performance of a contractual relationship (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
Our website contains links to external sites (e.g. LinkedIn, FHNW). When clicked, you are taken to the respective providers' sites, for whose data processing we are not responsible.
We only share data where necessary for the purposes stated – in particular with our hosting provider (cyon AG, Basel) and, where consent has been given, with Google Ireland Limited (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Fonts). Data processing agreements are in place with processors (Art. 28 GDPR / Art. 9 revFADP).
When using Google services, data may be transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in the version recognised by the FDPIC apply.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations. Your cookie choice is stored for up to 180 days and then requested again.
Within the scope of applicable law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing. You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, contact info@neurolexi.ch.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EEA the data protection authority responsible for you.
